What a beautiful area in which we live. We took a trip to Island Park this past week and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a cabin that would all of us. There was plenty to do around the cabin. We golfed, swam in the pool, played games and had a great time together. This was our first time to Island Park so we had a lot of adventures awaiting us.
Close to where we were staying was Big Springs. This is a fresh water spring that releases 120,00,000 gallons of water a day. It is also the headwaters for the Henry River. This is a very scenic float trip down to Macks Inn. The water was crystal clear and it was fun to watch the fish swimming under the raft as you went.
The next day we took the boat over to Island Park reservoir. None of really knew what to expect. There is an island with a lot of beautiful cabins on the lake. We were shocked at the lack of safety and space the boaters on this lake displayed. After exploring the lake a little we discovered a great big bay past the island that was glass and not crowded at all. We had a great day exploring the lake, sking, boarding, and surfing.
